Probably. This depends on the program though.

It could conceivably be worse as a chief resident, especially the first few months. As chief (at my program) you are on call every day, meaning you get paged by the intern whenever they get paged and don't know the answer or have something going on (such as an admission or trauma). Hopefully as months go on you get called less and less.
