Curious if anyone here has experience with parterning as an OMFS & GP or really between any dental specialities. Considering a parternship (I am OMFS) with a long time established GP who has a lot of experience in marketing/billing/hiring staff etc. They would be a 'silent investor' and open a standalone OMFS practice with me, possibly in conjunction with an orthodontics practice across the hall. Wondering if anyone here as experience with this and what "fair numbers" would be.

What % of startup cost are they paying for and what do they get for it?

No experience to answer your specific questions but I would say since you're OMFS, your earning potential and overall ceiling is lucrative. I would venture to go completely solo and not be restricted by any partnership/investment by GP esp if it's already going to be standalone practice. No second opinion or have to check in with them w/ major decisions.

The systems that they would offer in terms of marketing, billing, etc is nice but I think you can find a lot of outside resources to where you wouldn't necessarily need to partner with them in order to gain access to that.

Just my two cents, hope it helps

Just make sure you’re on the right side of the Stark Law.

I think the above poster is on to something. All of these things you could acquire and learn yourself. You have an incredibly valuable and sought after skill set. Don’t let anyone make you think you need them more than they need you.
