Hi all, I am about to begin an OMS residency but I am hearing conflicting advice from residents at my program and others across the country. Some residents say to get a training license and others say go ahead and get a full one because it can help with licensure in the future due to the length of the residency program. What do you all recommend? Are there instances where people have trouble getting a license after residency due to the length of time from boards to being done with training?

no problem at all.
I got a license in one of the toughest states after I graduated from a 6 yr program
However getting a regular license allows you to moonlight if thats permitted in your program

you should get an unrestricted license if you're not sure about your plans. If you're sure you know where you want to go when you're done, you should review the laws and regulations of that state and determine the best course of action.
