Omg Amcas Transcripts

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
in all seriousness, i've verified that my transcripts got sent out on t3h 4th of june and still no reply from AMCAS. WHACK!

then again its partly the school's fault for sending a transcript a month after I requested it....

Yeah, make sure your school actually sent the transcript first. I made many "caring" calls to them about it, and it got verified soon afterward.

thank god, I am not the only one freaking out about this lack of verifying transcripts. My school said they sent it out June 11th, and still...AMCAS has not received it. I am just afraid of it getting lost in the mail....gahhh. but hearing that you had it sent since the 3rd or 4th makes me feel better.

sigh

They take time. That's why you sent them in early.

It is so lame. I sent my community college transcript on 6/7 and it still hasn't been recieved. I sent my University transcript on 6/8 and it has been received just today 6/18.

I sent my CC transcript to the PO box address and sent the University transcript to the street address. Lesson for today children? Send it to the street address not that dumbpoo PO bex.

whats the street address?

If I have to request transcript number FOUR from my cc I will use the street address.

i was just wondering if anyone has ever received 2 separate emails from amcas in one day about receiving transcripts. i have 4 in total. the one from my undergrad was sent on june 1, received june 11. one from a state school was sent on june 6th and received on the 15th. one from a community college was sent on June 6th and received today (june 18th). I still have one more out there that was sent on June 7th. would they have said that they got both of them or do they not separate them by people and just have them in a big stack? wow i am being really neurotic. disregard this post. if you read this far you are a nice person and i wish you the best in your application endeavors. 😍

hey prettymonkey im pretty neurotic too so nothing to worry about there....im pretty sure they tell you when they get each separate transcript..that would make the most sense? but anyways, on your status check page it will tell you if each transcript was received but remember that it takes them a reallyyyy long time to post the receipt of transcripts (im not even sure if i answered your question?) dont worry though...just remember that youre way ahead of all those people who still havent started their applications yet 🙂

I'm in the same boat. University transcript was sent on 6/8 and cc transcript on 6/13. Still no word from AMCAS, but from above it looks like 10-12 days is typical. Eh, whateva, life's too short to worry. Plus, I'm too busy keeping up with the recently started DRUM CORPS season! Go Phantom and Crown!

I just got my transcript notification email today. I ordered my transcript on June 6th and today is June 19th. The funny thing is that in the email it says that AMCAS received my transcript the same day my school sent them out, June 6th (my school sends transcripts electronically).

This just shows you how long AMCAS can take to notify you of things. Just hang in there!!!

That sounds familiar. The last transcript of mine that AMCAS received was from Georgetown: the transcript that was going from NW Washington, D.C. to NW Washington, D.C. - a grand total of about 19 blocks away. It took three weeks. I drove down to D.C. two weeks ago for a friend's wedding - I could have gone down a day earlier, picked up the sealed transcript, and hand delivered it.

Transcripts take a while if send by mail. It takes about 2-3 weeks before you receive any notification about them. That's how long it took for mine and I sent it around the end of May.

sent out 6/7, received 6/14 ( sent all the way from west coast too!) however, my other transcript, sent out 6/11 still hasnt gotten there yet

FINALLY OMGORZZZ OMGORZZ

ok but seriously for those who are feeling really antsy about their transcripts. Mine just got receieved today and it was sent out 4th of June so all hope is not lost.

Welcome to the hell that is the USPS in DC.

When I was an undergrad, my GW med rejection letter took 9 days to reach me after it was postmarked. I lived 3 blocks away from the medical center.

and yet I stuck an envelope in my mailbox on Saturday (in central Texas) and it was delivered in South Dakota on Monday.

things don't always make sense, huh?

Hey guys,

my last transcript was finally shown to be received today. It was sent on 6/5 from texas and received 6/11 and got the email today 6/19. They are slow so be patient.

Have you guys been sending it to the PO box or the street address?

I forgot the street address but sent one transcript to it. It was sent priority US mail thats why it got there so fast. The PO box one I sent was sent snail mail, the normal crap thats why its not there yet. There probably shouldn't be a difference between sending it to the PO box vs street address.

So if I submitted my app on June 6, but I'm STILL waiting on my transcripts to arrive (my school sent them out on the 12th 😡), will my application be transmitted to schools tomorrow so I can get going with the secondaries?

i had one sent on june 7 (i called and that's what the person at the registrar's office said. it is not there yet from the university of rochester. they do not charge for transcripts so maybe you get bad service. like they tie your transcript to the back of a turtle and give it vague directions to DC? 😕 i have also noticed that my other 3 receipt notifications from amcas have come at around 11am. is that the only time they send out emails?

For those of you who find comfort in knowledge, I just talked to a lady with AMCAS and she told me that they are currently only processing transcripts through the 12th. When your transcript is received, it is marked with the date and then when it is processed it is listed as that date.

Sucks for me, but I hope it makes someone feel better.

the good news is that if AMCAS already has your transcripts when you submit your application for review it doesn't take the rummored 4-6 weeks to be processed. I submitted mine Saturday, and I woke up to an email this morning saying it had been processed! 4 days! yay- so hang in there

I think you have to give it a couple weeks. My transcript was mailed out on 6/4 and they received it today.

In about a month or so it should start getting closer to 4 weeks... but people who get them in now will have a short processing time (assuming that their transcripts are all in).

my grades were not available because my school's term ends kinda late and the grades were not available until late May/ early June🙁 my transcripts got sent out on the 11th (received the June 6th at the office) so AMCAS should have gotten them already. i called the office and they said that they allocate about 7 days for mailing time and 5-10 days to enter the transcript into the system. i look forward to having my last transcript verified anytime this week. hopefully it won't take too long🙁

I had mine sent June 4th to the PO Box, and just got an email this morning saying that they had recieved it on the 12th. So hang in there, yours should be logged in soon 🙂

I hope so too. I have been 'rarin to go and start filling out my secondaries.

I've been checking AMCAS every day to see if they had received the one transcript they need from me, with no luck. Turns out my school didn't bother to ship it out until the 14th (the 14th! when I made the request weeks before! and school ended early May!) so I'm just sitting pretty until they get it. School registrars are so frustrating! Turns out the pain they cause doesn't go away after you graduate (it's been over a month and they're still haunting me!)
