Hello SDNers!

I'm starting to panic about the DAT because my advisor keeps telling me I have to get it done at the beginning of May. I feel like it's a lot of work to study during the school year 😕. But that aside, I'm looking into materials for the DAT. Keep it at the absolute minimum $, what would you recommend me to buy?

Thank you for always being supportive!

I'd say start with Chad's Videos ~$50/month, then do DAT Destroyer + Math Destroyer (~$200). Those are the essentials. Depending on your financial situation, purchase Bootcamp and/or Crack Dat PAT for PAT section practices.

Studying for the DAT is like a full-time job and could be challenging when coupled with school work. But it can be done! I recommend that you start studying right away if planning to take it at the beginning of May.

Thank you for your suggestions!

You can have my 2016 destroyer if you want it, I have no use for it anymore.
Are you selling it? Please message me! I'm new to SDN and can't seem to find where to send a private message 😀

I strongly recommend doing Crack the DAT, they have awesome PAT section. Tried it and got me the best scores I can ask for. 🙂
Hey dentoldme20, quick question: do you think the difficulty of Crack the DAT PAT closely reflect that on the real thing?

@minionphil , yes! 🙂 I am one evidence that their PAT section reflects the real DAT PAT. 🙂 🙂 I will be posting my scores real soon. 🙂 Have you taken your DAT already?

I haven't. Taking it on March 24th. (really coming up!!!) I practiced using Crack the DAT and got really good scores 🙂 It's good to know that they reflect the real DAT.

I saw some people (maybe 2) say that the keyhole section on Crack the DAT is way too easy for the real deal...anyways, looking forward to your post!

Good luck! Almost there. Some people do say it was too easy compared to the real thing. However, what I did was focus and familiarized myself with all the basics and their videos helped too plus their video explanations. What i do most of the time is watch the videos first to refresh then do the tests and do them again until I get the hang of it. Then when I took the DAT, all i can say is that it really mirrors the real thing. 😉

@dentoldme20 , looking forward to those scores. I took my DAT last year and used Crack the DAT as my major prep tool and got a 24AA. curious how did.

I attest to this to @minionphil , I took my DAT last year and I am very contented with my scores and I am very satisfied with crack the dat, most especially their PAT section. Good luck on your DAT.

I appreciate all the thoughts! Thank you!

Good luck to you! March 24 is so far, but so close :dead: you got this!👍

Hey so i used both dat bootcamp and crack dat pat for the PAT section. I found dat bootcamp much more difficult. i thought crackdat pat was right on with the real exam in terms of difficulty. my crackdat pat scores were similar to my real score if you see my breakdown. Honestly using both is a pretty good idea, the more exams the better to build your skills and timing

thanks for the tips and great job on your DAT! Impressive scores 🙂

If OP is on a budget, I would strongly recommend against getting Crack the DAT - it has one of the worst values (in terms of how much you spend) of all the DAT study materials currently available.

I have another friend (dental student) that recommends me to get Crack the DAT just for the PAT. Is there another useful resource for the PAT section? Thank you!

Crack the DAT has unlimited usage so if you change plans and take your DAT at a later time then this would be the option for you. 🙂

Bootcamp's PAT section is a lot more challenging (in a good way) and the cost of a Bootcamp subscription is a much better value since it covers all the sections of the DAT (Crack DAT's cheapest package for only 5 PAT tests is $99...not worth it if you're trying to keep your budget down). Crack DAT is good for extra practice if you have the money to spend but it definitely would not be my first choice for the PAT section (or any other section honestly).

DAT boot camp has some free materials you should definitely check out. If you like it, it costs like $130 for the rest.
