Can you find another specialty which seems to focus so intently on ranking residency programs? Or one that has its subforum invaded by anonymous posts during match season?

These are probably the reasons we're so concerned with rankings

1)some people want highly coveted coastal jobs.
2) some people perceive the job market to be a lot worse than it really is.
3) some people just value ego stroking because the brand name attached to their training defines who they are.
