Anyone have any experience or heard of anyone's application being put on hold AFTER they interview? I interviewed in early December, and after weeks of indigestion, finally got a letter I thought would give me an answer, only to be put back in the purgatory pile.

I don't know what to make of it. I got an interview, so I don't think they're disappointed in my numbers. The interview went great, at least I'm confident they don't think I'm a sociopath. All they said was that after reviewing my application and interview, my application would be on hold until they got the transcripts from the Fall term.

The only thing I can envision is a knock-down drag-out fight in the mud between the adcom debating whether or not to accept or waitlist me (or whether or not to waitlist or reject me). On the upside, I'm a graduate student, and I got a 4.0 last term, so its not like they won't like what I'm sending them.

Thoughts? Comments? Concerns?

Congrats on the interview and the 4.0 last term. Now that students are in the midst of applying to schools, schools can be more "picky" as to who they want to accept. Perhaps your undergrad GPA was a little lower than they would have wanted, so they wanted to confirm that you could handle the rigorous medical school curriculum.

From what you revealed, I don't think you should be too concerned.

Hey, you live near me!!!! Are you a SUNY student? Where are you on hold? Did they get your transcripts yet? Maybe that is the only reason why. I would send them a letter letting them know how them semester went and that you are really interested in their school. Good luck!:luck: 😀

To answer: Yes, indeed I do live near Loudonville. Nope, not a SUNY student; I'm a Union grad working on my Master's at Albany Medical College. I'm on hold (post-interview, hence the thread) at LECOM-B. Unfortunately, every other person on earth seems to be taking these weeks off, so there is NO ONE in the registrars office to get things moving. I talked to the Doc who oversaw last term's class, he is writing a letter of recommendation (and including my grade) to add to my file down there. Hopefully they'll take that in lieu of official transcripts for now. I just want an answer so I can start taking care of this bleeding ulcer they've left me with!

hang in there, i was in the same exact situation, took DCOM 5 weeks to get back to me, and I am still waiting for the letter....I'm sure you're not going to be rejected, and after the 4.0 term gpa, acceptance will be heavily weighed in your favor.

I think you will be fine. Just get your updates into them as soon as possible. :luck: 😀
