exactly what does this mean?? it doesn't sound too good to me, just got thaat letter from one of my state schools. i'm guessing this isn't exactly good??😡

Sorry littlephilly but "on HOLDs" are never good. I got put on a CRAP load of them last year. I am probably guessing the school is either SUNY Upstate or Penn State. Probably the latter going by your name.

I was just placed on hold at SUNY Upstate, I'm guessing it was because of my not too stellar MCAT score of a 27. I think it just means that we're put on hold for an interview... our applications will be reviewed a second time after everyone else has been reviewed... so it kind of sucks, but at least its not an out right rejection. I think... ? 😕

philly i got put on hold at SUNY downstate in like august... they said for me to send my current fall semester grades over when they're available. well the semester's not over yet and they invited me for an interview yesterday. so keep the faith!

Yea, Upstate HOLDs are usually negative BUT there are people who come off of it. Thefore, keep up on them by sending updates and letters. I am a NY resident and it happened to me.

I really feel like a d!ck saying this b/c I remember what last year was like.

From what I gathered, SUNY Downstate's hold is much different than Upstates. I have never heard of someone being rejected from Upstate off the bat. Downstate, on the other hand, rejects immediately. I should know. 😉


If you get the HOLD from Downstate saying that they are waiting for your fall grades, I think its a good sign. Both of my friends who got taht letter were invited for an interview. One was accepted the other waitlisted.

i'd rather go to downstate anyways.. but i haven't heard anything from them yet. i'm having another LOR sent to all the state schools, i have a 3.6/31 but my app was kind alate. OH WELL!
