I was wondering if many Dental Schools even look at on-line courses.
Unfortunatly I am currently failing an online course (trig, it is a pre req for physics). I was wondering if my failing grade (my only failing grade ever) for my on-line class will even be looked at by dent schools seeing as how some dont even accept online credits in the first place.

Thank you for your time.

Sadly, one way or another you'll still be required to put it in your courses completed section and it will impact your Science GPA, so I'd suggest trying to drop, or asking the teacher how you can get your grade up. From what I saw of my GPA breakdowns on my application print out that one of my interviewers showed me, they break it up by sciences, but they didn't have Online classes separate, although you can indicate that a class was taken online in AADSAS, and they'll see that on your app, but it'll still effect your GPA.

If you can drop it or get a W..DO IT! If you are failing, you need to get out before your hurt your GPA

Drop or "W" from the class immediately. Do anything you can so that this bad grade doesn't hunt you for ever. Even if you retake the class, it will still count towards your GPA. Good luck 👍

let's be honest...it's trigonometry, not the most difficult subject in the world. try to get your grade to at least a B....if that isn't realistic by the 'W' deadline then you should drop the class. Wait until the week before the deadline to think about dropping the class so that you are certain that you can't pull your grade up.

Best of luck

Don't make the guy feel bad, math isn't easy for everyone, especially if you have a crappy teacher. I used to tutor math at my college, and I know plenty of people who found trig much more difficult than Calc, I know I liked taking calc better myself.

Luckily there's really no hardcore trig on the DAT, hehe.

Trig is awesome!

Whether the course is online or lecture based, a F would be factored in when AADSAS calculates your cGPA...

in terms of the DAT trig is important component of the QR section (prolly around 8-10 questions involves some kind of trig) whereas calculus is absent entirely.

i went to a CC in my early years and failed pre-calc2 (i never showed up, was wreckless and didn't care at the time) I got motivated after that dreadful semester and retook it, aced it. Between the two courses I have 8 credits avged at a 2.00 (4+0/2) really suxes hard considering most of my schools don't even accept any of the CC courses and I later took calc 1,2 and 3 as well as diff EQs and did well in all). AADSAS really has a way of releasing the ghosts of your past. No F is acceptable and the impact of even one is pretty devestating, especially on a 4credit science course that math is considered.

My boyfriend has a 4.0 and had trouble in trig. Some people struggle with trig..it can be difficult if you have never seen a unit circle before. It doesn't make you "dumb". But you do need to withdraw.

Exactly, like I love Algebra and hate Geometry, but my girlfriend hates Algebra and loves Geometry, everybody is different, and different people find different things easier.

Does anyone know if a online biochem class (from UC Berkeley extension) will fulfill the prereq? thanks.
