Just wondering what others are doing with their personal statements for ERAS applications for prelim IM - modifying at all, or submitting as is?

I'm a DO. I do not have to do a DO internship but I'm wondering if I should apply for a transitional or medicine PGY1 position of all the neuro programs that are not linked? When should I get the ERAS application in? Do I wait till I get interview offers to decide to which programs I apply to. They just received my SF application today 8/22.

If there are any DO's with any advice that would be great too.

Anyway, really... What should I write in the PS for prelims? Does it need a motivation section (i.e. should I explain why I want to go into prelim, ain't it pretty self obvious?) My PS has references to neurology in every paragraph, irrespective of their main topic. Can I use it as is, or should I remove the neuro references. I mean, is there any absurd issue related to this?

Same about LORs. I am at least one generic LOR short. That is, one of the LORs is from my Neuro professor and I am pretty certain it's very specialty specific. Does it go for prelim?

Your motivation to go to a prelim program is that it is a requirement to pursue the specialty which you will build a career. No need to waste your time to justify that known fact. You can just cut and paste your neuro ps and perhaps add a line or two about what you want to get out from the prelim program-which is invariably along the lines of wanting to build a solid foundation in medicine before starting neruology residency blah blah blah.
