There are several threads about residents getting fire/terminated or asked to leave. I have few questions related to that

If are fired/terminated/asked to leave from a program, do you have right to see your file and when? Is there any time line? Do you see same file as your department or a different, like a summary?

Lets say you are in this situation then does it mean you are black listed for any future employments (fellowship, academic or non medical like research) with that hospital or it is more likely department specific event so you may be ok with other departments of the same hospital?

You should have the right to review your file in it's entirety. Exceptions would be very few -- the paperwork regarding your selection/ranking would be off limits (and not germain to your employment anyway) as would any LOR's that you waived your rights to see.

If you are actually terminated, it depends what for. I have taken residents from other programs into IM -- for example, those that do fine except for their procedural/surgical skills. Getting hired by a different dept will certainly require discussion between departments / program directors.
