1 application, 1 interview, 1 acceptance

UCSF c/o 2013

First I weeded out schools that required PCATS (no pcats for California schools); Then I filtered out ones that I didn't have the required courses for and all I was left with was UCSF & Touro so the decision was easy b/c of UCSF's prestige, location, etc. Also, I am a reapplicant so that probably gave me a higher chance of getting in 😀

BS Bio from UCBerkeley, 3.48 Cum.GPA, 1year Retail Pharm as Tech, Currently doing Stem Cell research @ UCSF (no publications), and a handful of extracurriculars that I've spent years doing + strong essays + strong letters of rec + good interview 👍

You guys stink. 😛 JK, I wish I could have only applied to my top school and gotten an acceptance. I applied to 10, which I kind of regret, cause that was way too many schools. I ended up withdrawing from 5 schools.

I'm also one each of application, interview, and acceptance. It's definitely a cost effective way to go, plus my sweetie is in school in the same city so I can't move!

I applied to one school, had one interview and received one acceptance letter. In all honesty I don't recommend doing this. Many people myself included thought me very foolish for only applying to one school. As I am sure you are aware, getting into pharmacy school is extremely competitive. I only know of one other person who applied to one school and was accepted.

is there anyone out there that only applied to one school and got in? if you did, what were the circumstances about you only appying to only one school? I'm just looking to see how often this happens.

It just really depends on the applicant and how many schools they want to apply to.

Thought about applying to schools here in Arizona, but wanted to move closer to family. Thought I'd throw the dice and see if I could win big on my first try! Best thing is that I only had to pay 1 application fee!

Technically, 2 apps, 2 interviews, but...

University of Colorado has always been my first choice. I interviewed 2/2. After a month I hadn't heard anything so I applied to Regis, which is a new program also in Denver. I got rejected after my interview from Regis. I should hear back from CU this week, and I think if I get in it would qualify as 1-1-1.

One app, one interview, one acceptance for me: Idaho State. I kind of put all my eggs in one basket for this, but it worked out in the end. I hadn't taken the PCAT so my options were limited- my backup was to take the PCAT and apply to many more school next application cycle if I didn't get in. I don't have to do that now though!

Stats: 3.96 cum GPA, 4.0 for pre-reqs, limited pharmacy experience, but lots of work/teaching experience in general (I think the fact that I'm older than most applicants helped me here... maturity level, etc.)

I was so worried it wouldn't work out this time and I'd have to go through more application/interview processes next year. Certainly saved some money there!

I'm a junior, so I figured I'd just apply to see if I'd get in (and if I did get in, I'd leave early), and if not I would've stayed to finish my BS degree. Plus it's in state and a great school so why not 🙂

Hey! I'm in the same boat...but I did 2 school, 2 interviews, 2 acceptances. I did 2 because after I sent in my first one, a friend urged me to apply to another one. After looking at the program and visiting the 2nd school, I found it was a even better 'fit' for me than the 1st school so I decided to apply to it also.

My GPA for USN is 4.0 but that is on academic forgiveness. I'm not quite sure what my real GPA is but I think it is only a 3.1 or so because I was a lazy slacker back in the day. Plus I had the brilliant idea of taking advantage of my school's grade replacement policy by getting an F and retaking a class if I thought I was going to get a C. I'm not quite sure what I was thinking there but I have 5 Fs calculated into my GPA for places that don't replace grades on retakes. And yes I have a degree. I'm going to graduate from pharmacy school exactly 20 years after I got my first degree.

And I did get in to CU. So we'll call it 1 app, 1 interview, 1 acceptance, with 1 ill-conceived backup plan in the middle.

I only applied to UAMS. I interviewed back in February and the acceptance/rejection/waitlist letters were supposed to be sent today. I should know by Monday.

I applied and got into one (as a soph). The only reason I didn't apply to more was because I only had enough prereqs for Campbell. It's still my among my top choices, but I would've applied to surrounding state schools as well.

LOL...I look at those F's as a 'learning' experience....So I guess if you have the most F's, you have the most experience....😎

Had basically two options as far as Pharmacy Schools. One was a 4 year program and the other a 5 year program. For the 5 year program I only needed 5 more hours while in the 4 year I needed 24 hours of pre-reqs..Since I am a non-trad so I decided to only apply to the 4 year which I believe is a stronger program anyway because it would require one less year to complete. Plus it is the one I really wanted to go to. If I didn't get accepted to my top choice I would have applied to both next year. Got my acceptance letter today KU C/O 20013.

I only applied to Temple University School of Pharmacy. It was during my sophomore year of undergrad and I really had no way of finishing all the pre-requisites for any other schools in my area (even if I took summer classes). I was a pursuing an engineering degree so luckily 95% of my courses matched up with Temple's pre-reqs. Got an interview in one of the last groups and finally got acceptance in April or so.


In case anyone's looking into Temple, I just finished my first year here and I'd be glad to share any tips and knowledge 🙂
