Top 20 Public School for both degrees (if that matters)

Why there are so many cases of weird combination of low gpa/ insane mcat score threads in these days?
Anyway, I don't think your graduate gpa will be considered during the med school application process. And a 2.9 undergrad gpa is low for US MD schools. You graduated from a top 20 public school...so that's Berkeley, and you're from CA. CA med schools are hard to get in even for in-stater, so I guess your best approach to med schools are either

1) apply broadly, to both MD schools and DO schools. Since you're black, you may have a shot in some low-tier MD schools even with your 2.9.

2) Take some post-bac credits to boost up your gpa and try to apply next year.

Best wishes,

AMCAS data tells us that for the last three years, of all those applying with your stats, 54.2% received an acceptance to an allopathic school. This assumes an optimal application in all other ways.
