Go into them with a positive attitude (like it sounds you have) and I'm sure you'll do great. The key is being flexible from day to day and from rotation to rotation. I've gotten really good at just going with the flow because you really just never know what you might get into. 😆
Get yourself a nice little notepad and calculator that will fit in your coat pocket easily.
For me, rotations don't start for a little while more. Come May, we start Experential 5, aka the course which will get us to fulfill the 300 IPPE hour requirement. We won't start our APPE courses until July.
One week till rotations are OVER!!! Can't wait for them to be finished...the last one is a brutally boring adult med one at a hospital (for the life of me I can't see why anyone ever wants to work in a hospital).
They did go by remarkably fast (starting World of Warcraft during the second rotation helped stave off boredom) but for the most part they turned out to be a remarkable waste of time...except the one that resulted in my job.
I didn't see that you have any rotations that I had so I can't give you any specifics but if your experiences turn out to be anything like mine...don't worry about the next year. The important thing to remember is that you're not going to be expected to be able to answer every question asked of you, but if you know where to find the answers you'll be all right.
Funny! No, I'm not really freaking out...yet! I'm just really excited to learn! Thanks everyone, for great advice! Keep it coming! I'm sure everyone ( in all classes!) can benefit from this thread!!!
