Is there a list of schools somewhere that require only one science recommendation letter (in addition to one or two non-science)? I googled it and the only ones that came up were Indiana University and University of Michigan. Any others??

Most if not all require 2 science letters. Some schools even require 3.
Are you having difficulty finding a 2nd science letter?

Also, I don't believe there is such a list.

It depends on the school but some will take a committee letter in place of the 2 science, 1 non science requirement and some only require 1 science. It won't hurt you to try and get a second letter though to be on the safe side!

Most schools require at least two science letters OR a committee letter from your undergrad university. A lot of schools send a committee packet which includes a composite letter from an advisor and letters of recommendation that you had people write for you. In that case, the way it was explained to me was the committee letter was satisfactory and the letters could be from anyone. I had one science professor letter, one letter from a doctor I shadowed and one from my boss at work and have already gotten four interviews, so I assume this is fine.

At many schools they require either a committee letter OR a set of letters that include two science professors. For the former, the letters are not specified. For instance, nicknaylor did not have a non-science recommendation but did submit a committee letter.

edit: man two people beat me to it.

Yea I'm in the same boat. I have a committee letter composed of 4 letters but only 1 is from a science prof and then a personal recommendation. My advisor said I should be fine!
