One W during junior year?

Hi guys, so i am taking 4 classes right now...3 of them being science..and this is my winter quarter as a junior. I want to drop one of the science classes..it will count as a W...my first one. I am applying this june. Will this look really bad or is one W ok?

Completely not a big deal; there are many valid reasons why someone might take a W.

I had one withdrawal my junior year. It came at one interview out of dozens (not schools, interviewers), but only because he wanted to laugh at how out of place it was on my transcript.

I suggest that you stress out and lose a lot of sleep over it. You now have no chance to get into medical school. You are doomed!!! A W is as bad as puking during your interview. It's over man, time to go change your major to history.

I had 5+ Ws...2 my senior year...nobody cares, assuming you have a strong academic record and didn't take 7 years to graduate because of your droppings...

One W is really not an issue. I have one W and I have a good explanation for it. I haven't applied to medical schools yet (applying in 2010 for Fall 2011 entry) but I don't think it will be a big deal at all. Just do well in your other courses.

I had like 4 undergrad W's, and 3 graduate school W's! Accepted into an MD school this year baby! It all depends on how you explain it. And as long as your grades are excellent...
