Online Animal Physiology?

Does anyone know where I can take a Mammalian Physiology course online? Iowa State requires it but I am graduating in December without having taken it, so I have to take something online and my university doesn't offer it. Any help would be great 🙂

I would also love to know of one. I need one for Western and the only course they offer at my school is this semester and obviously I missed it.

I also need something for Cell Biology. I looked at UMinn because I heard they have an online section, but I didn't see anything 🙁

Cell bio will be hard because that usually requires a lab. Can you take that as a lower division course somewhere by your house? Mamm phys also usually has cell bio as a prereq, for pretty good reasons....

Actually, mammalian phys at my university has gen chem, gen bio, and physics as pre-reqs, not cell bio.

And cell bio at my university does not require a lab.

There is a college here that has human anatomy/physiology which I'm assuming would fulfill ISU's course requirement for Mammalian. Still on the hunt for a cell biology course.

I would check to see if it fulfills Iowa's requirements since I know next to nothing about them and it would stink to pay to take extra classes that don't even work.

i attempted the animal nutrition course 2 years ago and couldn't handle the lack of organization of the website (just my opinion). so i lost out on all the $$$ spent and dropped the course. one of my friends is currently taking the course. she said it's ok. and i know there are several people on here who really enjoyed that online nutrition course. it just wasn't for me. i'm looking into taking it else where in the spring.

i don't think it was blackboard b/c i have used blackboard for years and know how to navigate easily, but all i remember is a site with links where the notes, lectures, and study guide were located. maybe it was their version of blackboard and how it was laid out (could be different than to what i'm used to) and it's quite possible it has all changed within the last two years.

really? i haven't heard anything about their online course, just that it's expensive (but so are the others i have looked at). 🙂 so i take it, you took their online course and liked it?

I tried emailing them but I'm guessing they're swamped with applications etc now 🙁

I saw some older threads about courses that UC-Davis USED to take but may or may not be accepting anymore.

Gella- I took the Breyer State online course and it satisfied the requirements for UCDAVIS, IOWA, and OREGON. It was a horrible, stupid course, but relatively easy to charge through and I got a B with little to no effort. I'm sure I would have done better had I been able to understand any of the questions or if I had read more of the textbook.

With all that in mind, if you (or anyone else) decides they want to take the course - pm me!!!!! I will sell you my old textbook for $20! I gotta get rid of it! And I figure I should pass it along to another hungry pre vet student. It's in perfect shape other than a bit of highlighting in some of the earlier chapters. I gave up on that pretty quick, though.

Anyway, the offer's out... Definitely pm me though b/c I'm not on here much.

I also need an online advanced physiology course for UC-Davis.

I took the UNE physiology course. It was a rough course, but it is there if you need it. Has a lab component in case any schools require that. Davis told me not to take Breyer State when I got an interview invite last year, but still accepted it from individuals who had it approved before that point. They approved UNE's course without a problem.

My advice: email Kim O'Bryan and ask if the Breyer State course will count before signing up for it. Getting approval in writing has been, in my experience, extremely important when it comes to applications.
