Anyone know if and where the "leveling-in" prereqs are offered online by any school?

Thanks.

Thanks.

That's a good start. I'm also aware that Nova Southeastern offers classes online, but the cost is too prohibitive.

yea i actually looked around for similar programs i didn't find many

the utah state online program was recommended to me by a professor at one of the schools i applied to for fulfilling pre-req's- she said they've had many students take those in the past. the cost seemed pretty reasonable too.

Yea i was thinking about the online Utah State program, but i was wondering how well it would prepare me for Audiology school.

Here is a bit of extrapolation into those program posts...

1. Utah State. $211 per distance undergraduate credit hour.

Tuition: http://distance.usu.edu/htm/tuition/
Course List: https://rcde.usu.edu/coursefinder/index.cfm?courselist

2. Western Kentucky University. $360 per distance undergraduate credit hour.

I did my second bachelors distance education through Utah State University and I loved the program! The professors are wonderful and I learned a lot! I would highly recommend Utah State.

yes, definitely go with the cheaper program (Utah State). There are other programs out there with distance education but I cannot remember their names. look around a lil bit more but Utah State sounds good so far. good luck!

Yea i just got accepted to the Utah State Program today, ill be taking classes online this summer!

Congrats! Are you taking the COMD bachelors program?
Thank You! yes i was planning on getting my bachelors online in COMD, but i just now got my mail an I also got accepted to USA as well. Anyone no anything about their undergraduate programs like which ones better per say USA or Utah State?

Go to USA. It is the ambrosial fruit amongst the cornucopia of campuses...which is not to say it will confer immortality; maybe just make you feel like a god while you are enrolled there.

lol yea i heard that but it's like right on the beach, i worry my grades would suffer from all the fun I'd have

I only know about Utah State and I really enjoyed their program. I did the COMD second bachelors through distance education from them! If you have any questions feel free to ask!

So you felt that you were prepared for any AuD program, even though you didn't have any class room interaction?

Yes! And I have been accepted into almost all of the programs I applied to. I think the professor's are wonderful and very approachable via e-mail/phone. There is also a chat feature that allows you to study/talk with other classmates. I work at an audiology clinic so that helps as well and gave me some more hands on experience and observation and I could ask the audiologists I work with questions throughout my program if I needed clarification as well. I found that the Utah program teaches you the basics you need to know and can build your knowledge on and of course you are taking speech classes as well as your audiology classes as with most COMD undergrad programs. I found that if you study hard and prepare well you can do really well in all of the classes. Hope this helps :)

thanks so much for all the info...i've signed up for utah state's online courses as well!

just an additional question...have any of you been able to get recommendation letters from the professors from any on-line prereq programs in general?

I'd like to apply for AuD programs next year, and one stumbling block right now for me are the recommendation letters since i'm quite a few years out of school (a career changer) and have lost contact with my undergrad professors. would the admissions board somehow think less of these recommendations because technically the professors have never actually had face to face interaction with the student??
