But, they'd sell Cokes in the tall, recyclable bottles for dirt cheap, IIRC. You just had to turn the bottle back in, and all you had to do was pay for the Coke inside of it. It think they went for like $1 EC, which is about $0.40. Nice and cold, they were pretty damn delicious.

Pepsi sucks anyway.

Is that the big bag of Doritos? Because here in NYC that goes for about $3.49 U.S. And, 21$EC is about $7.89 U.S. So, it's about a 100% mark-up. Guess if you really need a bag of Doritos...

Overall, I thought the food in Dominica sucked, anyway you slice it (pun intended). That was about the worst thing about my 16 months on the island. That, and there's not much else to do besides studying. However, the 14$EC bottles of rum (and the occasional Cuban cigar, which you can't get here... at least legally and/or as cheaply) definitely made up for a lot, especially after the minis.

hi all....i'm new here, but i'm a student at ross vet school on st. kitts....had to laugh at the price of doritos....it's the same here of course, but what really gets me is the pint of ben and jerry's for 25 EC!! but if you're like me, you'll eat ramen noodles just so you can afford the 'half baked' that makes studying so much easier 😀

I don't remember ever seeing that on the island.

I sometimes found some warm hagen daz in james store, sometimes refrozen. but never ben and jerrys.

yep, we have ben and jerry's now.....that and the hagen daz is a bit freezer burned, but we just learn to make it work around here..... 🙂
