only ONE amcas interview?!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I think I only had 2 by this time last year. It's still pretty early - don't worry about it too much yet.

i have a 36/O and a 3.59. And i have one interview from my amcas schools. wtf, mate?

when was your amcas processed? thats the key date. if its late, now you're competing with the fresh august mcaters. hang in there.

and how strong are your ECs? im guessing with your solid numbers you're applying to top schools and hoping to land one.... top schools aren't just a number game. most people who apply to top schools have the numbers. good luck.

strong. i have one publication, a year of research at one school, a summer of research at another, shadowed 2 doctors over two summers, volunteering by playing violin for elderly, orchestral work (instrument), student government, etc

are you applying to CA schools? That'd be your answer . . .

Boohoo OP, how many people don't have any yet ? yes, you're probably well qualified, but there are also thousands of others just like you. I know it sucks though, I 'm in the same boat.

it really sucks...i have STILL only heard back from one amcas school.

You'll be fine. Your numbers are good but they aren't STELLAR. Sounds like you went into this expecting schools to kick out the red carpet for ya. Doesn't work like that. I felt very fortunate to have the interviews and acceptances I got, as I didn't go into the process expecting a single one. They will come, though, as long as you didn't only apply to only top tier schools. I hadn't heard from UPenn, Harvard, or duke when I withdrew app, and UMich deferred me. This is with same MCAT, higher GPA, different but similar quality EC activities. So if you applied to only these type of schools, good luck to ya.

People shouldn't go into this process expecting something because they have a decent application. A lot of people have a decent application and I know quite a few people with stats much higher than ours that were sunk for a year bc they only applied to top schools.

LOOL i thought i saw this before somewhere
