Hey everyone! I've been able to find loads of rankings for US clinical psychology programs, but very little for Canadian schools. I'm especially interested in what people think of the following Ontario universities:
  • OISE (U of T)
  • Ryerson
  • York
  • Ottawa
If you could choose between these four, which would you pick? Why? Are any of you attending them now (or have in the past)? What were your experiences like?

Thanks a lot for your help, everyone! Any and all advice will really help in terms of picking where to go 🙂

I'm a little confused. If you've gained admission to all four programs, you're a little late in deciding-- You should have been doing that in April! If you're deciding which program to apply to, I suggest all four plus at least three more programs with faculty doing research you are interested in. These are all very competitive programs (some more so than others), and you'll want to apply widely to have a chance of acceptance at even one of them.

Sorry about that. I will be applying to all 4 programs (and then some), but these are my top choices. I'm curious how they stack up to each other so that I can make a more educated decision about which to pick, should I end up being accepted to more than one.

And I do realize that a lot depends on the specific supervisor, but this is more of an all-other-factors-being-equal question - I'm curious about the general reputation/prestige/etc. of these schools.

Oh, got it. In that case, you'll get a better feeling from interviews. They are all reputable, and in some cases it depends on your area of interest. For example, Ryerson has excellent CBT training and many really prolific researchers. York has more of a humanistic and EFT-focus to clinical training, and if that's what you're interested in then it's arguably the best program in Canada. I know less about OISE (it's a counselling program?) and UOttawa.

That's really good to know - thanks!

I don't know much about Ottawa either. However, I would have assumed that U of T would be the "best" out of the 4 just because it's U of T and actually famous around the world. On the other hand, as you pointed out, it's a Clinical & Counselling program, which arguably makes it less prestigious than a regular clinical program. So that's a bit of a dilemma.
