So school X gives me an acceptance and the mail is dated 2 weeks ago. They only gave me 2 weeks to mail my decision, but I forgot to call or mail them today which was the last day. Would I be OK if I called them on Monday?

Yeah mail it out today and when you talk to them on Monday, just explain to them that the mail is slow or something. Remember that they gave you an acceptance because they want you at their school and they realize these things do happen.

I had about 6 weeks from the date of my acceptance. I told them I had every intention of going to their school, but didn't think I could come up with the ~$15,000 first depost/first semester tuition during that time, they were nice enough to extend it another month. Just explain to them your situation and I'm sure they'll understand.

Usually if it's from the date that's on the letter then they would've written that somewhere. They realize that the mail is slow.

I wouldn't worry too much. Something tells me that they're not your first choice and that you're holding out on a better school otherwise you would've sent in the confirmation right away.

No offense but how do you overlook something like a medical school accpetance or "forget" to handle it properly. Barring some kind of mistake by the postal service I can honestly say that would not happen to me. Perchance it did I would get on a plane and hand deliver it monday morning if i had to spend my last dime to do it.
On the other hand maybe your sitting on a pile of acceptances. Hope it works out for you.

I have sent emails for schools I have gotten in to. That might be a good idea here as well! Have it waiting for them first thing monday, then call and see if you need anything else on top of that. Seriously, I have never sent snail mail decisions, only email, and schools are fine with it.
