Open and closed end pipes?

I've never really grasped this concept. Are the waves and nodes/antinodes in these pipes from longitudinal waves? What do we really have to know about them? 😕

Pressure waves. You need tension for longitudinal (can't happen in gas or liquid except at interfaces, eg surface tension).

I think you meant transverse. Longitudinal (sound) waves can travel through air and water.
