Looking to transfer to Michigan in Jan for CA-1 or July for CA-2, anyone know of open positions?

Have you called them? (I'm assuming you mean Big Blue.)
Otherwise, there are three programs in the state:
University of Michigan Program
Ann Arbor, Michigan

Henry Ford Hospital Program
Detroit, Michigan

Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center Program
Detroit, Michigan
040-25-31-073
And, if it's a geography issue, University of Toledo in Ohio has a program ([FONT=arial, helvetica][SIZE=-1]040-38-21-125)[/SIZE].. It's only 59 miles between Toledo and Detroit, and 52 miles between Toledo and Ann Arbor. You can probably find a cheap place between the two and split the commuting distance with your S.O. (if that's what's driving the move).

Yes, I'm talking about U of Michigan. I've left a message and emailed. I'm on the west coast, so the time difference is killing me and I never seem to get out at a time when I can call and they are still open. I'm hoping to catch a break this week and call during lunch, but don't want to alarm my program until I know for sure what I'm going to do, so I'm incognito (sp?). Thanks for the advice...I never thought I'd find myself in this position. The things we sacrifice for our families.

The first thing they will ask you is if you have talked to your program yet. They may not talk to you at all until you have talked to your program director.

I understand ethically why I should talk to my program director first, but I don't want to make anyone mad here in fear they will make my life miserable until I transfer, if it is even possible. I'm curious how to go about this when I'm not guaranteed a spot. If anyone has gone about this or you know someone who has, please let me know how it went.
