Did anyone consider ophthalmology and end up in radiology? curious as to any reasons...
 
Wow optho vs. rads. Those are two complete different specialties. May I ask why you were hardcore on optho then decided to go rads? Sick of fundal exams?

The money is really not that different. There certainly is higher end potential in ophtho than rads, but the averages are probably about the same.
 
Ophtho average is lower, for general ophthalmologists. Arguable that some of the subspecialties in ophtho (retina, plastics) have higher potential. Currently, the job market is more favorable for radiologists. However, who knows what salaries will be like for either in 10 years. Choose the field you enjoy the most and you'll be happier than going for a little extra dough.
