Hey everyone...
So I've taken a few cycles off of applying and come back new on here.

I just found out I'm pregnant about a month ago, which I'm excited about. I have to re-write the MCAT anyways before applying again since my last scores would have been expired for this cycle. So the thing is.... I'm due in the summer, so I was thinking that instead of people judging me being 8 or 9 months pregnant and writing the MCAT before the baby is born, maybe I should wait till after. I could still write it end of Aug/Sept and be good for the timeline I need and if I study up until then as much as I can and then when I can fit it in, I can prob be away from the baby for 5 hours to write the test right? 😕

What would y'all do? Or if you had to write the GRE in your case?

You don't need the MCAT if you're pre-vet I thought. Not at the schools I've looked at at least.

Don't base your decision off of whether some random test proctor judges you.

From what I know from friends' babies, you will not be sleeping or having time for much of anything in the weeks after the baby is born. I would get it over with beforehand if you can.

Congratulations!

I'm in Canada so for the vet schools here that's what I have to write

Definitely do it ASAP. That way if your scores are not what you'd hoped there is still time to try again.

Don't wait til the last minute just for fear of being 'judged.' Who are they to judge anyway? You are trying to better your life and further your career. Child or childless, it's none of their business. Nor will "they" affect your score whatsoever. 😉

Congratulations!

I second the above. If I was you, I'd take that sucker ASAP and get it done; you're likely not going to have the time to study for the MCAT after Baby comes 🙂love: ) - nor are you going to want to. Is there any bigger distraction in this world than a bumbling joy of love that you created? - Maybe the messes and the noises that go along with it. 😉

Just remember: unless there's another individual in that room carrying a living creature inside of them, you are a stronger woman than anyone else in there. They've no room to judge you for furthering your life and your career, particularly since you're not sacrificing your personal and familial life to do so - something not many of us can say.

Good luck with everything!

My question for those who have taken the test. (I haven't) How many bathroom breaks do they give you? 😉 That would be my deciding factor if I was pregnant! Nothing worse than having to pee every hour, not be able to, and have to concentrate on a test.

I would definitely take it before baby gets here. I'm still not entirely sure where the first six weeks of my son's life went to, and all I did was sit at home and relax.

Congrats and good luck!

Thanks guys for all the help...I think I'll probably look into writing it before hand. The problem is that I'm not the best at standardized tests so I'm going to still give myself till the summer to write it. That test is a beast!

I remember last time I took it that the sections are all timed (I think there was like 1.5 hours or something .. I can't remember) and then you had I think 5 or 10 minutes to eat a snack or go pee or something. But if you weren't back in time, the next section would still start without you there and you'd just have less time. So hopefully I wouldn't have to pee too much haha
