Opinion on registering for classes?

Okay so this is my second year, but I'm a bit indecisive on what classes to register for next semester. I'm actually majoring in psychology and doing all the pre-reqs along with this major, but by the time I apply and (hopefully) get accepted somewhere, I will probably be ending with a double major in Psych and Bio. I declared my bio major later than some other students did, so next semester I will be registering for Chem II but I'm not sure if I should take physics along with it. There are only 2 professors who teach it at my university. The one teaching it next semester does not have as many resources available like the other professor does. The second professor (who isn't teaching next semester) offers extra study session lectures ever week, extra assignments to help etc., and I have heard nothing but bad things about the other. Math is usually a subject I have to spend a lot of time on, so I'm wondering if I should hold off and wait to take physics with the "better" professor who offers more help.

But here's the thing, the second professor only teaches "Physics I" during the fall and "Physics II" during the spring, which means I would have to take wait to take it in the fall term of next year (my junior year) or of my senior year, since I was planning on taking O Chem my junior year with a lighter load. Should I hold off on taking Physics until later on?


Also, I want to add in and be honest that I'm not 100% sure as to which program I want to apply to. I am still up in the air between dental/podiatry, which I know sounds bad since I should know by now. I am planning on doing some shadowing over the summer to hopefully find my true passion.. But anyway, I know that for the DAT, you don't have to take physics before it since physics isn't on it. Since I'm heading down the road of practically double majoring, I may be in undergrad an extra semester or two anyway, so should I hold off on physics to take it with a professor I have a chance at getting an A in or should I struggle next semester and may risk a lower grade?

Take physics later - you don't need it for the DAT or anything, just as a pre-req for dental school admissions. I'm applying this cycle (have landed multiple interviews), and I'm finishing up with physics II now as a senior.

Okay so if I don't take physics next semester, should I take another upper division science course to help boost my science GPA ? It's currently about a 3.1 and overall is a 3.667. Should I retake a course I got a B in?

I would really advise against retaking a class you got a B in...generally retakes are for C+ or lower, and even then sometimes it's just better to take more upper level classes you know you can get As in to boost that.

I would take some upper division science courses that you know you can excel in to boost your gpa. Do not retake a class that is a B.

*ALSO* something I wish I had known before I was close to applying is that A+s count as 4.33, so if you can possibly get an A+ IF the professor or school you go to gives them out, try to do that. Those definitely will help your sgpa too 🙂

An "A" student is an "A" student no matter what classes or professors they have.
