I have to decide very soon.

Exactly. YOU have to decide. I know this may seem harsh, but you will here all kinds of opinions here and realistically, none of them matter. Do a search on these forums and read the bazillion threads on this topic if you feel you must. The decision is yours. Choose wisely based on YOUR needs.

What would be the best choice among Barry, WesternU, Temple and NYCPM? I have to decide very soon.

I agree with the other posts, it is something you have to decide.

If it helps any, I actually was just choosing between all of those schools. What worked for me in making a decision, was looking at the pros and cons of each. Compare cost of living, the type of neighbor hood the school is located in, the tuition amount, the curriculum, clinical rotations, is it far from home etc... One thing to consider is if the program is integrated with a D.O. program or not, and does that matter to you? Either way, all schools will get you the degree.

For off campus living costs, I think most of those cities are pretty expensive. Look at specifically what you can get for what you will pay. See if those things matter. I checked out craigslist and actual rental property sites, you can see actual photos of rental units and see a general trend of the housing situation in each city.

Where did you feel the best on your interview day and see yourself 'fitting in'? Which school do you think has the best environment for you to be academically successful? Speak with current students and compare 3rd and 4th years - they can vary quite a bit from school to school. As an attending has recently told me...go where you want to LIVE for the next 4 years. Yes, it does matter. If you are not a city person..oops you are in trouble 😀

I'm sure you got a chance to speak with many different people on your interview day...what was the vibe like? Any red flags?

I would suggest making your pro/con list on paper - everything from cost of the school, cost of living, parking, study areas on campus, technology, campus eating, the library, etc, etc. Of course, make your list based on what is important to YOU and your situation.

Congrats on your acceptances and having a difficult choice to make! 👍 Let us know what you decide, when it's time.
