I am a new-to-be D1 and I have to go get custom fitted for my scrubs in a few weeks. I'm just wondering where I should layout my pockets? Could seem trivial, I just assume there are more trafficked areas??

Custom fitted?? What happend to S, M or L? hahahahaa..

Anyways. Your scrubs should only have 2 pockets: one on you left chest and one on your right cheek.

Hup

PS- tell me you're joking about custom fitted

Well the place does custom fitting. Yes I can pick where pockets will be, where should I place them?

Crotch area.... that way when its cold outside (temple = very cold), you keep your hands warm in your new pockets and prevent your ****s from freezing off

I could use some honest advice here

haha good one.

chest and some side pockets on the pants seem logical

don't really need pockets anyways so don't worry too much about it

This sounds like a freshman hazing scam, like selling the D-1's elevator tickets or sending the new kid to look for a left handed handpiece.

My OR scrubs have one chest/one back pocket which is okay (except I have this nagging fear of getting breast cancer from my cell phone sitting in the chest pocket all day...). However, I really like the pants I picked up that has slit pockets at the hip plus 2-3 pockets on the sides of the thighs.

Tailored...how much extra are you getting charged for that? And are you adding enough room for the stress weight you'll gain during school?

I dont have any financial connection to them, so I feel like I can say this. Smartscrubs house brand S.C.R.U.B.S. hold up better, fit more comfortably, and develop a nicer hand than any other brand I've tried since Cotton Scrubs & Co got bought out (and ruined). I have some almost a decade old that look like they were bought yesterday. You might want to take a look at them before forking over for customs.

Oh and one more thing...dont wear your new fancy scrubs to gross anatomy. Get cheap $10/pair scrubs for that. Trust me....you'll WANT to throw those out! 😉

+10 on S.C.R.U.B.S. brand. All my scrub pants are from them, and most of my scrub shirts too (I've got a few other print scrubs tops from other companies since Smart Scrubs these days doesn't have as many "male biased" prints as they used to 🙁 Pants wise though, the only thing that I don't like about them, is that a few years ago, the rope/twine/cord that they changed to in the drawstring waist isn't as durable as it used to be, and after a year or two, it tends to fray a bit and you then get to replace the drawstring with a more durable based nylon cord, since the fabric of the pants is fine.

I have two pockets on the front, like bellybutton level....and I love them so much that I miss them when I wear my regular clothes. Perfect height for phone, keys, pencils, typodont teeth, what have you...

Make sure you get a crotch zipper. The bigger the better.
