The topic of this thread is "opinions" so technically we can never be off topic! 😀

Every time I read through some posts after time away I catch one that is still talking about the OP and it catches me off-guard.

It's my opinion that it's downright atrocious that we do not have this in the USA.

My own personal favorite that is tough to come by in the US. You can get them at Wegmans, but they are like $5. (*OUTRAGE!*)

Do I need to set up a Kinder egg smuggling ring to the USA? Cause I will. 😀 I love Kinder eggs.

I've never seen that before, but I've seen things similar to it, and if they're the same, the sticks are like little cracker sticks. The Asian grocery near my building sells something similar, minus the orange drink, called Yan-Yan: http://www.asiansnacktime.com/meiji-yan-yan-chocolate-biscuit. (Note to self: Stock up on Pocky).

I actually saw that without the drink at a Polish store once.

Yes plz on the Kinder smuggling ring.

Can someone please share with me why these are so fantastic? I have never personally had one. 🙁 Do they taste delicious? Are they similar to the "Wonder Ball?" (which upon googling I discovered that they still make, but no longer put toys into)

Yes please! I get my grandmother to smuggle them down anytime she visits. (And hickory sticks, and coffee crisps, and eat-mores, and crunchie bars, and ketchup chips uurrrgh).

My favorite thing about Yan-Yan is the fact that the chocolate flavor used to have the disclaimer: "does not contain pig fat" on the package... whereas the strawberry did not. 😱

I don't know if this is still the case.

(As much as I heart bacon, there are some things that just shouldn't mix with pig fat. I'm pretty sure strawberries are one of them.)

Oh, and Kinder= 😍.

i just ate a hippo last night!! they sell them in the market below my apt 🙂

Re: Ketchup chips-they exist here. I'm not sure what brand they are but my girlfriend's sister gets them from Wal-Mart all the time =)

Omggg moving away from Canada to the states was torture mainly because of no Aero bars, kinder chocolate, cadbury selection, or KETCHUP CHIPS! OH MAN I LOVE KETCHUP CHIPS! Haha, I am absolutely surprised to find someone else here that likes them! Any time my family brings me some back from Canada, I let people here try them, and they all find me so strange for thinking they're the best chip flavor ever. Mmm I could use some of those right now!

Who makes them? I think Lays did at some time.

I'm so disappointed that no one has explained what's so great about these kinder products yet! 😡 😛

I think they're slowly seeping south, just like salt & vinegar chips did... they definitely aren't mainstream or in walmarts here in NC. The closest I've found are these weird burger king ketchup "fries," and they're just not the same as these heavenly bags:

And ditto on Coquette, Kinder surprises were the shizz when I was a kid, so I have fond memories... also, all of Kinder's other chocolate is just really good milk chocolate. If you have a World Market (or other store with international food), hit them up and try one some day.

It's hilarious that you guys are raving about ketchup chips and all of our chocolate.

Do you guys have the new Dorito flavour: onion rings and ketchup?

It's not bad.

Do you guys have All Dressed and Dill Pickle too? Can't remember if you do or not.

I miss American restaurants: PAPA JOHNS OMG NOM, Denney's and Baskin Robbins first comes to mind. Also, Starbucks, Quiznos, and Pizza Hut are rare here. I miss those. I don't know if it's just in my area, but you guys can put spinach on your subs at Subway. Also, Fritos are hard to come by. The only kind I'd found are the BBQ. Not the same as the original. AND YOUR CORNPOPS ARE DIFFERENT. Wtf????? Ours are better.

And the US got rid of Kinder surprise? Seriously? *sigh* I've got a pack sitting at home that I got for Christmas. Couldn't take it with me 🙁

And Crunchie bars are nom nom nom. You have other Cadbury products though... like the creme eggs?

ETA: I did a google search and found this site: http://www.canadaonly.ca/ If anyone is craving ketchup chips... they ship worldwide!

Unfortunately, not all Subways have spinach. Two of them in my town do, but one doesn't.

I might have to find one of those hippos...

It might just be your area. There's a few Starbucks in the city. There's Quiznos and Pizza Hut too. I could go for a Denny's though. Cheap breakfasts!

ETA: Okay, Canada does have Denny's just not any further east than Ontario.

I know that Starbucks is only in the city 🙁 It's why I've only had it... 3 times in my life lol. There is also a Pizzahut in the valley, which I've been to several times. I wasn't sure if the city had an actual restaurant or not. A few years ago, a lot of the malls had express stores where you could order like an individual pizza, but it's not the saaaammmeeee. Oh well... I found something almost as good... Greco stuffed crust. Nom nom nom.

You have to remind me I'm missing dill pickle, too. 🙁

And seriously, you guys have Tim Hortons - I could live off their iced capps. Nevermind Starbucks!

And I'm sure lots of things are regional in Canada, too; I'm originally from Saskatchewan, but most of my family lives in BC now and I have no idea if spinach is common in their Subways, haha. Do you guys have Eat-More bars? A friend of mine in Halifax said she had never seen them before, which is a serious shame and made me wonder if they were only sold in certain areas.

ETA: I did a google search and found this site: http://www.canadaonly.ca/ If anyone is craving ketchup chips... they ship worldwide!

Woah woah woah, French Toast Crunch doesn't exist outside of Canada?! I'm not a big cereal person, but that stuff is so strangely appealing and I've never noticed that I didn't have it here.

Um... She might be blind. I can get those just about anywhere. Grocery stores, drug stores... Even in very rural NS, so I'm not sure why she's never seen them before. 😕

The US has dill pickle chips! Lay's makes them, and they're so disgusting they're good, if that makes sense. Haha.

Also, of course we have cinnamon toast crunch. No good with milk, but perfect to munch on by itself.

WAIT, french toast crunch? I dunno if I've seen that before...

This thread is hilarious! I haven't visited it in awhile because it was getting a little argumentative for my taste....I come to revisit it now and its all about food!!! I love it!

You have no idea how immensely displeased I am to know that they have those hippo things in CA, and I, with my dead rental car, am unable to get my hands on one.

Angst.

Does anyone remember Orbitz drinks*shudder*? The experience can only be described as backwash in a bottle.

ROFL. Thank You Very Much: I now have Sting's voice running over and over through my mind singing "Backwash in a bottle... yea...."
