I am a P4 pharmacy student currently on my ambulatory care rotation at RXVIP. We launched a campaign this week called "ask your pharmacist about..." Our focus this week is adverse drug events and pharmecogeomic testing. I am reaching out to inform you all of an opportunity to enhance your career.
RXVIP uses a business model to enhance the profession of pharmacy in addition to the business of pharmacy. We call it being a 'concierge pharmacist'. It all starts with a pharmacist getting involved with a doctors office by facilitating him/her to do pharmecogenomic tests on his/her patients. This is at NO COST to the doctor, with a profit for the pharmacist who brings in this practice. The opportunity can eventually morph into preforming chronic care management for medicare patients and annual wellness visits. Physicians can bill for these "incident-to" services under Medicare part B and can be preformed by a pharmacist. All this can be done as additional revenue from a traditional pharmacy job. RXVIP does not hire pharmacists, rather they support this endeavor through their existing partnerships and business models.

LMAO.

We had someone come by trying to hawk this pyramid scheme at our pharmacy.

They bill the patients insurance ~$15-20,000, the MD gets $X, and you get 0.1($X)

I'm just trying to be helpful, since this is something that pharmacists can do anywhere in the U.S.
Just to give a hypothetical example- You get a MD to do a pharmecogenomics test on 1 patient, medicare reimburses the lab $400, you get $40 on ONE patient. the test takes 2 minutes to perform (and it can be done by anyone, the doc included), and it takes me about 15 minutes to read the results from the test and digest it into a 1 page form for the MD
Another example- Billing codes for CCM (where i live) can reimburse about $87 for 20minutes/ month/ patient. The company i'm with gets $20, the pharmacist who preforms the 20 minutes chronic care management (non face-to-face encounters) gets $30
Not bib bucks, but money to be made for not so much work and work that makes you feel rewarded for actually really helping a patient

Bro. If that's what they told you and you believed it, you need to send your bull**** detector in for repairs

Companies want to reward us with good feelings now? I know something this scam could do to make me feel good, and trust me, I will respect the scam as much tomorrow as I do today....
