Could you give me info on optha:

When the match takes place exactly:
What an optha residency path contains:

Anyone? Please and thank you

Ophtho is pretty darn competitive because of its lifestyle/income ratio, so their matched Step I has traditionally been in the 225+ range. The match takes place in January. If anyone has specifics like the OP is looking for on this and the other SF participants (similar to the NRMP study that keeps popping up around here) I'd like to see it, too.

Yes I read about the SF match on the website, but really it doesn't say much, its just you interview in November/December, find out about optha match in January, then you match in NMRP to PGY1, peds, or one other one before you begin your optha. (Basically you match into everything (optha track) except your first year out in January, then in NMRP you match for single first year out.

just a polite suggestion... but it's spelled "ophthalmology"; i'm sure those ophthalmologists would get pretty pissed if you spelled it incorrectly in e-mails to PD's etc.
