  1. Pre-Podiatry
Hi! Like everyone on this board I to want to get into podiatry school. I was aiming for dental school but my g.p.a is fairly low. I am going to be taking the DAT again. I am recenltly working on a Accounting degree since I realized I was not going to be getting into dental or podiatry school at time soon. I wanted to have a back up career since with a Biology you really cant do much. Now I am thinking either taking more Science classes or repeat some science classes I did bad in or should I go for Masters and then apply? I am not sure what these schools are really looking for. I mean having a good G.P.A. and DAT or MCAT score is given. What else can I do that will really make me different from all the other applicants? Please advise.

Thanks

Aleena

Things that make strong candidates:
1) MCAT
2) GPA
3) Time spent shadowing pods
4) Volunteer and extracirriculars
5) Strong letters of recommendation
6) Strong personal statement
7) End you educational career with good grades, therefore, showing improvement
8) MS, MBA, MA, PhD, or other advanced degrees
9) Get a job in a podiatrist's office

I'm sure there are million other things that can set you apart, but in my mind the best thing you can do for yourself is do well on the MCAT. If that means spending time and money on a MCAT course than do it.

👍

Also, make sure pod is something you REALLY want to do, not just a dental back up 😀
