Are optometrists able to conduct research with ophthalmologists? Are ophthalmologists reluctant to have optometrists as their research colleagues? Im speaking in regards to Canada, but insight into the US works as well. I feel as though optometry is really limiting in Canada, but in the US you have a little more wiggle room as to what you can do with your degree.

??? I assume this is a joke? I don't know the answer to the original question either. If you were part of a team of people, maybe. If it were you alone partnering with one MD, good luck. It probably is also dependent upon the University approval, and also upon approval of those giving out grants.
