Optometry Board Review

This forum made possible through the generous support of
SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.

I think they already have some. I remember buying something back then and using a lot of my note service

Are there any go getters here on this forum willing to assemble a team of recent graduates and educators in optometry to write a review guide for the optometry boards? Please contact me and we can discuss: [email protected]
When I was at Berkeley we had a study guide that we sold to all of the other schools as a fundraiser. I would start with that.

ICO started its own review book this last year. My class put it together and it was great! I'm not trying to bash the Berkley guide, but I found the one my class made to be much better. I would imagine this has a lot to do with that the notes were assembled the same way we were taught things, so everything was familiar (ie variables in optics). It was also very comprehensive, two volumes. The school plans to continue editing it for a couple years and then perhaps offer it to other schools.

As far as review guides for Parts II & III, since they have a >90% pass rate, I'm not sure if a review guide would be needed.

Ours is free to ICO students, but since it is not available to other schools yet, I'm not sure what they plan to charge.

Dr. Ames,

I think a much greater value would be the same review book for established practitioners who would want to move from one state to another or a board review for TMOD or Part III. I think there would be value in those situations.
