Hoping to end up in fellowship next year, and if that happens, I will not be seeing any OB patients.

Does this mean my OB case list cases will have to come from residency? And if so, how does this fall into the "12 month period" rule that ABOG has?

Disclaimer: I took my general boards several years ago, so I would encourage you to look on the ABOG website for confirmation. I took my general boards as a fellow, and used cases from residency. The cases had to be from my 4th year if I recall correctly. Before leaving residency I made sure to look at the categories of required cases and collected the information required from those patients as once you leave you likely won’t have access to the medical record system anymore. Good luck!

if you take boards as a gyn fellow the cases come from 4th year, the 12 month thing is only if in practice. I kept an excel spreadsheet of all the OB stuff I did in my chief year. I assume the same is true for when you’re a subspecialist, no one except a urogyn in practice to have recent OB cases on their list.
