I am a third year dental student who is set on OMFS. I would like to buy myself an Oral Path text for myself for use during residency. We have already had Oral Path in dental school and I did not purchase a book as we were given everything we needed in the notes.

I am trying to decide between the Neville and Damm Oral Path text or to go big for the Marx text. Is it worth the extra money for the Marx text? The Neville and Damm book is $115 while the Marx text is $400.

Input from current residents would be appreciated.

When you get in, then buy the Marx book. In the meantime use the Neville and Damm book or the Sciubba Regezzi book. Both are great, probably the Neville and Damm more comprehensive. You'll still find yourself using it in residency even though u will still use the Marx one as well. We had a copy of the Marx one in our resident library and that worked perfectly well and saved us from having to spend the money. Anything we really wanted we copied.
