I am sorry for keep asking the same type of problems
1)
H2SO4, H3O+, CH3NH3+, NH3, CH3CH3, CH3CO2H
the problems asks u to list them in order of decreasing acidity.
2) NH2-, H2O, H-, CH3O-, H-C=C- (= is triple), H-O-
(- in the end meaning minus sign, not the bond.)
the problems asks u to list them in order of decreasing basicity.
could you also explain why which one comes first and stuff?
if I know how to do those two, i believe i can solve problems such as
3)
H2O2 + CN- <==> HCN + HO2-
strongest acid?
CN- gained H so HCN must be acid and CN- is base and thus making H2O2 another acid.
but then I don't know which is stronger between H2O2 and HCN.
4)
H2SO4 + H2O <==> (HSO4)- + H3O+
weak acid?
H2O gained H so H3O+ must be an acid and H2O is base and thus making H2SO4 another acid.
but then I don't know which is stronger between H2SO4 and H3O+.
