hi all!

So I’m a senior undergrad and applied and was accepted to a couple of MD schools this cycle (both in the fall), and am very grateful to have been admitted.

recently (post acceptance, days ago), I was issued an ordinance violation (not a misdemeanor) for possession of open container of alcohol on public property by the city where my college is located. I am over 21. I was not intoxicated and not cited for anything else. I was told by the officer if the citation is paid it won’t show up on a criminal record.

I’ve scheduled an appointment with counsel, and I’ve heard these infractions may be reported to the school and may end up on my academic record, but I’m not sure. The violation I was cited for is a violation of the student code which is why I believe it may be.

If so, does this type of thing have a chance of having an A rescinded? I’m going to try to find out whether it will be reported on my transcript, and if it is, I plan to reach out to schools I’ve been accepted to let them know, but if not, I will probably omit.

Any and all advice or insight would be greatly appreciated

In situations like this, I put myself in the medical school's dean of students' shoes and ask, "would we kick out a medical student who did this?"
Clearly, it would be highly unlikely that a med school would sanction a student who got a ticket for an open container of alcohol in a city park or sidewalk. (The exception might be Loma Linda which has some strict rules based on religious teachings of the Seventh Day Adventists).

Pay the ticket, go in peace.

Let schools know what? That you got a ticket?

This is below nothing. Pay the fine and move on.
Thank you both for the guidance. I was definitely being a bit neurotic
