Organic Chemistry 2 Pre-Req [Help!]

I am applying to vet school for Fall 2010 admission, and the only pre-req I have left to complete is Organic Chemistry 2. (It's a long story, trust me you don't want to have to read through it.) I am planning to take it online in the spring through Oregon State University, it's a pretty cool program. My only concern is that vet schools with a requirement for 8 credits of Organic Chemistry won't even consider me. If they know that I intend to take it, do you think I still have a shot? Is anyone else in the same position? This class is such a pain in my ass! 😕

The best way to find out is to ask the schools that you plan to apply to.

Some schools allow you to have pre-req classes that you will finish in the spring semester (and some even allow the summer semester) but others want you to have it all finished in the fall. It really just depends on the school.

Although I can't offer any advice, I can offer empathy!

I am currently repeating organic chem 2 right now. I hate the class so much! I have always been a good student, but organic just makes me feel like an idiot! I'll be so glad when it's over.

Many schools allow you to apply with one pre-req left to complete...as long as it's done by the end of fall semester. So, it may be tricky...you should definitely ask admissions. It doesn't hurt to try though, right?

I think most schools allow you to finish pre-reqs through the spring. Some have a requirement for how many hours they allow to be unfinished until spring, but I think almost all of them don't have a problem with you taking classes in the fall and in fact really expect it. I wouldn't worry about it.

Don't most schools require you to have a lab for both sections of Orgo??

If that is the case then I would assume that an online Organic Chem class would not cut it...please let me know if I am wrong!!
