Has anyone taken orgo 3? I heard that it’s a seminar class where you build on what you’ve learned during orgo 1/2. Is the content in the class particularly dependent on the school?

At my school, "orgo 3" was also known as intermediate organic synthesis, where you mostly talk about higher level synthetic and analytical techniques. I imagine the content would be dependent upon the professor teaching it; the professor in charge of the class at my school was a carbohydrate chemist, so he talked a lot about oligosaccharide synthesis and sterespecificity at the anomeric position. Stuff like that
We had advanced organic chem at my school and it basically was just a physical chemistry course for organic molecules, with some advanced synthesis mixed in. It was pretty cool stuff!
You're gonna have to explain more what "Orgo 3" means with a course description or something. It means different things at different schools. For instance, if you're on a quarter system, that could just be the third part out of three of organic chemistry.
