Do they give the list of each functional groups and their respective IR spectrum or are we just suppose to memorize the main functional groups (i.e C=O)?

I think you'd probably be safe to memorize the absorption spectrum for the C=O and -OH groups. That seems to be the general consensus anyways.

I've only seen questions about hydroxy-, carbonyl- and N-H groups... not too hard to remember, I don't think, especially if you've done IR in gen chem lab.

Rmember, C=O can vary largely by what it is attached to. ALso, just know that > 3000 = hydrogen region. 3-22 00(triple bond), double bond, finger, etc....

3300 = OH (broad) or NH2 (sharp)
1700 = COO-
1100 = c-o-

that sohuld be good enough
