Just had a quick question as I get ready for the big test on 9/13. Just finished the BS for AAMC 8, and thought the organic passages required a fair amount of knowledge of reactions (ie, knowledge not presented or offered up in the passage), more so than I have really prepared for to this point.
I've read on here that the current test format has scaled back the focus on orgo, but wasn't sure if the AAMC practice tests were representative of this fact. So my question, for those of you who have taken the real thing this summer, is basically in your experience on the test, is it necessary to know a lot of specific reactions going in? Not just the generic E2, Sn2, etc, but actual ones (for example, HCl with an amide functional group, which I fumbled earlier today).
Any help you folks can offer would be appreciated. Thanks.
