When I was in ochem, I got tests with 2 molecules; a starting reactant and the product I was supposed to make. Sometimes you'd have to go through like 9 steps to get there and there were multiple ways. I learned well with these and it wasn't so painful as staring at single reactions, (I was using my brain).

I've been searching around online for something similar - does anyone know of any ochem sythesis sites similar to what I just described?

Look at the end of the chapters in O-chem textbooks. There are always a few of those multi-step sytheses/synthetic strategy questions at the end of each chapter.

This site seems to have a bunch of practice problems. There's a couple of multistep synthesis problems under the synthesis section.
