In the time you've spent pondering this you could have studied both in sufficient detail to get above an 8.

But really, if I had to choose I'd say skip Ochem... but there is really no reason to be lazy about this considering the next available test is in January.

The material is material I nvr learn at uni.
My uni orgo did not focus on mechanisms and rxns so I am seeing most of this stuff for the first time.

At my uni. I had to take animal physiology to get my degree so half of the physiology I am seeing is for the first time.

Bio 2 at my school focus on plant anatomy and physiology.

Dont mean to complain but it is really hard to learn orgo from prep books.

I took the MCAT in July and scored 9 on the BS section.

I didn't study ochem, and my knowledge on the subject was very rusty.

That's being said, I had two passages and around 3-4 discrete questions devoted to ochem.

From experience, I can say that physio is more relevant on the mcat. However, you shouldn't count on that. I know people who had 3 ochem passages and non-physio related ones on their test. Besides, ochem is a requirement for med school admission.

Bottom line, whether you are aiming for 8 or 15, you shouldn't take the mcat unless you're ready. People say shoot for the starts to get the moon, and I say shoot for the stars to climb the tree.
