I'm going to be taking Organic II lecture and lab during the summer, it'll be a month long course, but I will also be working part time (18-25 hrs/wk).. just want to know if this is doable or not. I got a C+ in Organic I.. the only thing I really needed was to study more instead of doing other things.. but I'm worried about this... what do you guys think? Anyone have any experience with this?

That will be a challenge. Having done Orgo Lecture in the summer in my postbacc, the amount of material, the condensed timeline of the course, having 3 exam and a comprehensive final in 5 weeks, made it nearly impossible to do any luxuries in life such as eating and sleeping. I found it took two full days of study time to feel really competent to on a chapter and we did 4 chapters a week. Do you see the issue here? Add to this your previous weakness in Organic and that some schools look down upon summer courses, especially Orgo, with the perception that the condensed timeline makes them less rigorous.

So the risk you face is doing poorly in Orgo II and that will stay on your record. I advise applicants to reduce risk in medical school applications and you are exposing yourself to many factors that increase the risk
Do you recommend students to not take any rigorous courses over summer even though they may be behind?
