I was talking to the dean today about my study abroad plans, and he told me that med schools look down upon people taking pre-reqs at non-home institutions.

Is this true? If so, is it still true if the class is taken at a reputable university? (In this case, it would either be Queen Mary University or University college of london)

Unless I'm mistaken (and I might be totally wrong concerning science classes), British courses are all more like independent study classes than actual "go to lecture, take exams" type things. Just based on that, I'd say it's a bad idea to take o-chem abroad. This is what I've heard from friends who studied in the UK, but none of them took any science classes.
