I picked up the first semester book and for those that used this as a refresher/study tool and took the DAT - was buying the second semester book necessary to score well?

I never took O-Chem 2, so for me it was important. Even if you did take O-Chem 2 before the DAT, I think it would be helpful. Don't get lost in any mechanisms, but breeze through it in a day or two to refresh on all the topics.

I found the combination of O-Chem as a 2nd language, Chad's Videos, and DAT Destroyer to be powerful as I scored a 27 in O-Chem without the 2nd semester class.

it's a bit too detailed. but def good to have to clear some stuff up/get a 2nd or third opinion
