I have Destroyer 2010, and KBB. I am wondering how I should use these to study for orgo.

I've been making flash cards for the reactions in KBB with the substrate and reagents on the front, and the products on the back.

I've watched chad's videos, and took notes on basically EVERYTHING he said.
Any reaction he did, I have it in my personal notes. However, KBB goes over some things Chad doesn't.

What should I do now to make sure I will do good on the orgo section? Do I need to focus on memorizing what each reagent will do?
Would studying the Destroyer roadmaps really benefit me? I feel like they would be a waste of my time.

I just took the DAT today, and I must say Orgo was a lot easier than Destroyer.

I think Destroyer covers the "big picture" of Orgo pretty well. Do memorize the road-maps in Destroyer; they are useful.

Memorizing all the reactions can't hurt, but if you are pressed for time, then just go over the road-maps, and you should be okay.

Seriously, if you can do Destroyer Orgo, I think you should be fine! 🙂

anyone else have advice?

I'm in the same place you are my friend. Me.. I'm going to try to learn both. KBB doesnt have that many different ones... than chads and destroyer. With that said - I've read alot of breakdowns that have NOT focused too much on advanced/odd reactions. It seems like you should know the common ones.

You should def know the road maps in destroyer because even though only a few reactions may actually show up on your DAT, you will have no idea which ones will. Those three sources together cover pretty much everything. The 2nd time I went over Destroyer after going over my orgo notes over and over again, I made flash cards on thing I did not know and used that as my final review.
Also, I photocopied the destroyer road maps, white out the products, photocopied them again and tested myself from there. Very helpful
