MD Orthopedic Spine surgeon hospital or private practice?

An orthopedic surgeon who specializes in spine, will the hospital or private practice give more benefits? ( salary, seeing a high volume of patients, freedom, malpractice ) which employment area for a orthopedic spine fellow will give more benefits then the other?

Salary is typically higher in private practice but it is dependent on volume, and you are not as protected as you would be in a hospital setting. There are many factors, but I think after a certain point, when you reach the millions in terms of salary, it doesn't matter that much anymore.
